St. Lawrence University Center for Teaching & Learning

Founded in 2001, the Center's mission is to provide relevant, engaging and ongoing faculty development opportunities to promote innovative teaching practices and course design. The Center's spacious conference room and state-of-the art technology labs host multiple workshops and meetings on a weekly basis. For more information about the CTL's learning spaces and layout, see Chapter 34 of the EDUCAUSE e-Book Learning Spaces.

Technology Training Series

Beginning September 16, Information Technology resumes the Wednesday Workshop series and introduces a new series, Application: Office Hours. These Information Technology workshops are hosted by the Center for Teaching and Learning and take place in the CTL Tech Lab room 106. Both workshops cover a broad range of topics relevant to technology resources available on campus. Wednesday Workshops are more formal, and Application Office Hours less so, but each session is small (typically eight or fewer participants), focuses on a specific topic, and allows for ample hands-on experience. All sessions will be one hour in length, followed by an optional half-hour for Q&A. Check out the current workshop schedule and register now!

New Faculty Orientation 2008

Back to Basics (B2B)

Information Technology's annual pre-fall semester technology training event was held August 18th and 19th. B2B technology training focused on the most essential elements for launching the academic year successfully. This included training on ANGEL 7.3, eClassroom technologies, Office 2007, RefWorks, SLU network resources, Vista, and the new voicemail system. Fifty-three faculty and staff filled 141 seats across 14 sessions covering a range of topics. Thank you, especially, to the 13 staff (from IT, the libraries, and the registrar's office) who prepared and provided training for this year's event. For details on what took place, have a look at the 2008 schedule.
